Consultancy for noise protection, sound insulation, building and room acoustics
Noise protection and sound insulation are becoming important aspects in the early planning phase of construction projects due to the growing demand for peace and quiet, in some cases highly noise-exposed building sites and stricter official requirements.
The application of the latest calculation methods for strategic noise mapping and the assessment of noise-exposed building areas is becoming an important tool to support the planning team and the conceptualisation of noise reduction measures. Compliance with official requirements (LSV) and, ultimately, the eligibility for planning permission can be presented in detail.
We are also happy to support you in questions relating to sound insulation and compliance with SIA181 with regard to airborne and impact noise as well as emissions from building services installations. The requirements for separating components between utilisation units can be precisely calculated and the dimensions of the structures determined.
Issues relating to room acoustics planning are also becoming increasingly important for construction projects. In public buildings, questions about speech intelligibility in connection with evacuation announcements are unavoidable. With the help of 3D simulation software, acoustic measures and their influence on room acoustic criteria can be visualised in detail.
Our competences in detail:
Noise protection (LSV)
- Creation of 3D noise models and modelling of existing noise sources to determine the rating levels at planned and existing buildings
- Preparation of official noise protection reports in accordance with LSV and proof of authorisation.
- Noise propagation modelling for e.g. design plans, new and existing industrial plants, sports facilities and competitions.
- Dimensioning of noise reduction measures for e.g. railway and road noise, industrial noise, noise from restaurants and discos, etc.
Noise protection, building acoustics (SIA181)
- Preparation of official certificates in accordance with SIA181 to obtain building approval
- Dimensioning of separating components with regard to airborne and impact sound in accordance with official or private specifications
- Building inspections, building acceptance, occupancy inspections
- Quality assurance
- Acceptance measurements for airborne and impact sound, room acoustics and emissions from building services systems
Room acoustics (SIA181 and DIN 18041)
- Creation of requirement profiles
- Definition of required absorbing, scattering or reflecting surfaces to optimise room acoustic conditions
- Advice on the choice of materials and construction of absorbent surfaces
- Support in questions relating to room geometry and the improvement of room acoustics in acoustically unfavourable room shapes
- Proof of compliance with SIA181 and DIN18041
- Verification of compliance with STI speech intelligibility in connection with evacuation systems
- Room acoustic refurbishments, incl. ACTUAL-TARGET comparison or as-built measurements to determine the basics
- Acceptance measurements of reverberation time and speech intelligibility, acoustic camera
